crackin' the whip on food!

no way did i ever think i would meet someone who has a bigger sweet tooth than me. but boy, have i met my match! 26er definitely wins in the sugar department. on the regular, he eats his ice cream topped with cereal, crushed cookies, nuts and whatever else he can grab his hands on then proceeds to drench it in chocolate AND caramel syrup. he justifies it by saying, "well it's frozen yogurt." and thinks it's okay. LOL! i imagine his dessert concoction looks something like this...

i posted a cartoon pic because the real thing is NASTY! (via)

being with 26er does not help my horrible eating habits. my food plan is based on my cravings. so my cravings dictate my meals. i often dream about my cravings if i don't satisfy them in time and just my luck, my new guy happens to also crave a bunch of junk! DAMN HIM!

since 26er is no help in the "eating better" philosophy, i have decided to set some food ground rules for myself. how else am i going to keep this girly sexy figure and drink all the beer that i do? 26er can afford to eat crap because he's 26! me?? i surpassed that age almost a decade ago! (holy sh!t, I'M OLD!) i really need to learn how NOT to eat chocolate or chips for breakfast which i tend to do at least 3 times a week.

so here they are.
my food ground rules:

#1 - fried potatoes only once a week!
this means french fries, chips, french fries in the shape of chips and whatever form potatoes come fried.

#2 - absolutely no chocolate or any other type of junk food
before 11:30 am!

#3 - extravagant desserts are capped
at one two per week. by extravagant desserts i mean restaurant dessert meal sign-offs.

#4 - salad as a meal
must account for at least 50% of my total weekly meals.

#5 - FRUIT!
love the fruit! be the fruit! better eat the fruit! which means each time a crave something bad, i better be grabbing a fruit for at least half a third of the time.

alright. let's see if i can DO THIS!
starting tomorrow...

inspirational quote of 2011 + accomplishments of this year

here's the 4th question of Reni's new year blog challenge...
what is my favorite inspirational quote for new year's?

"what at first may appear to be an ending, is often a new beginning." this is the quote in the photo i posted in my 1st blog entry of the year. and this is the saying i need to say to myself when i'm down and out to remind me that something had to end in order to make room for something better to come.

prompt 5 is...
three things i'd like to accomplish in 2011.
  1. quit trevor (aka smoking)
  2. find another opportunity at OLG (my current employer)
  3. have enough money saved to put a down payment on a home
the above are some pretty huge goals. but it's time to have some milestones in my life.
